A lot of people have told me that this is the book that started their HistFic obsession.
Because C.W. Gortner creates his characters fully and with passion.There are a few others, but these are the ones on my mind today. I have just started reading The King's Damsel by Kate Emerson, which I am reviewing for the Historical Novel Society.
